Description
The UK Data Archive at the University of Essex is seeking to appoint a graduate-level Officer within the Collections Development team.
The primary responsibility of the role will be to manage, coordinate and undertake the transfer and review of social science data and documentation deposits before their publication, and to provide frontline support for data owners for depositing data with the UK Data Service. The post holder will work closely with, and cover for the administrator of our self-deposit data system to support data owners upload their data to the ReShare repository.
Among the key skills required by the successful candidate are competency in handling and querying quantitative social science data, and an understanding of ethical and legal issues surrounding data collection and sharing. The candidate should be highly computer-literate and be confident in dealing with a variety of file formats.
