The Sheridan Libraries and Welch Medical Library of Johns Hopkins University are seeking an innovative, creative, data savvy librarian who is looking for an opportunity to provide service to faculty and students in a research-rich academic environment. The person in this position will devote ¾ of his/her time to serving users in the Government Publications Maps/Law Department of the Sheridan Libraries, and ¼ of the time supporting the data needs of faculty and associates in the Hopkins Population Center, via the Welch Medical Library.
Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited school of library and information science. Knowledge and use of data manipulation software such as STATA, SPSS, SAS; strong communications and interpersonal skills; previous work with data sets (i.e. social sciences, health, business); reference experience and reader instruction in library like environments; experience with some aspect of government information (i.e. statistics, legislative materials, legal resources); previous work in an academic library; collection development experience; use of GIS or geospatial data.
