Mimas is a national data centre supported by the JISC and ESRC and hosted by the University of Manchester. ESDS International is a high profile national socio-economic data service (http://www.esds.ac.uk/international/) based at Mimas. The service supports and disseminates a range of high quality international time series statistical databanks produced by intergovernmental organisations such as the World Bank and International Monetary Fund. The postholder will play a key role in providing service support and will undertake a range of duties required to ensure the continuing operation and delivery of the service to the UK academic community.

Applicants should have a good honours degree or experience in an equivalent role; experience in using web-based data and information services; experience of providing user support in a service environment; strong IT skills; experience of developing web based documentation and support materials; an awareness of web accessibility issues; excellent interpersonal and communications skills; excellent organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines with the minimum of supervision.
