Description
The Research Communications Analyst assists higher-level technical staff in installing, testing, maintaining, enhancing, and configuring computer system components.
Candidates should expect to work periodically on Saturday and travel infrequently within the surrounding states. Candidates should expect to wear a Blackberry during work hours.
Detailed knowledge of the Linux and Windows operating systems is required. Experience administering networks that include Windows desktop integrated with Linux servers is required. Substantial technical knowledge of network services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP), PC hardware, and information security is required. Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing complex network issues is required. Excellent oral and written communications skills are required. Experience administering TCP/IP networks is highly desirable. Proficiency in one or more shells (sh, bash, csh, or tcsh) is highly desirable. Experience with account management, configuration management, storage area networks architecture, programming, and Samba is desirable.
