Emerging Difficulties In Working With Data

In today’s hyperconnected world, we are confronted with a new condition: the difficulties to work effectively with data. This includes difficulties to understand the meaning of data within a given context, as well as the difficulties to place data correctly and use it appropriately. It can manifest in a wide spectrum of issues, ranging from obvious blunders to subtle measurement errors that are hard to detect. In this presentation, I will enumerate and describe several examples of such errors and their consequences most referring to the emails titled “Data Horror Stories” posted by iassist members
