Walking The Walk: A Replication Study In Data Management
In this session, I will present findings of an assessment project undertaken in fall 2025 of our institutional Dataverse collection. It is my hope that the IASSIST audience will appreciate hearing about a successful replication study within data management, as well as our local findings and outcomes of said project. I will discuss the experience of replicating methodology, a first for me but something we often promote as a reason to share data and processes. Main takeaways of the study include whether any need for operational changes in our moderation processes and guidance documentation were discovered, and ways in which we will use training and outreach to encourage ‘leveling up’ components of data deposits in the future.
Findings will be presented in aggregate only, to ensure continued positive relationships with our researchers, while at the same time allowing other institutional administrators to compare their local experiences to ours. The original study this project is based on was presented at IASSIST in 2024 (doi: 10.5281/zenodo.11478545); authors will be acknowledged in this presentation.
