The Data Rescue Project and Wider Initiatives

In response to the removal of datasets and dismantling of statistical offices at the federal level in the U.S., a coalition of organizations has been working together to communicate and coordinate across data initiatives, provide support for those conducting data rescue events, and develop tools for tracking data rescues.

This presentation will discuss the development of the Data Rescue Project as a distinct organization and its roots in the wider public data ecosystem. In addition, it will discuss the paths forward and the possibilities for future data infrastructure collaboration and support in the U.S. and other countries.
