New Database for Business Questions

The MIT Dewey Research Advisor is a database of business and economic FAQs and answers. The focus is definitely business and economics, but for those areas it is a useful and easy to use resource for finding quick answers to common data (particularly aggregate data and time series data) and statistical reference questions.

Thanks Jim for the plug, as

Thanks Jim for the plug, as this is actually our library that developed this (although, to give due credit, it's based on a system developed at UPenn that utilizes questions/answers developed by several partner libraries). We are a combined business and social scienc library, so I actually worked on the questions related to finance (stock prices, etc.). Right now we're just using it for these subject areas, but think it might be an interesting model for others. I have wondered about using it for other kinds of data questions, but am not sure how one would define the scope (could one develop general Q/As, as many data questions I get are very specific: looking for a study with X,Y,Z variables in population A over time period B-C). Would be interested in others' thoughts. Kate
